WORKSAFE Victoria has released a set of eight new Compliance Codes intended to provide practical guidance to employers and occupational health and safety representatives.
The Compliance Codes cover confined spaces, workplace amenities and work environment, prevention of falls in general construction, foundries, asbestos management, asbestos removal and communication across language.
According to the safety authority, it developed the codes after consulting with industry, employers, employees, governmental agencies and the community.
The codes include guidance, tools and checklists to make it easier for duty-holders to fulfil their legal obligations.
