Safety booms amidst financial bust
ACCORDING to Geelong-based safety equipment manufacturer
Barrier Security Products, the economic downturn has not affected the sales of safety equipment.
The company claims its sales for safety and security products were up 14% in October 2008 over the previous year, with no signs of slowing.
It manufacturers and designs products like car park speed humps, safety bollards, barriers, fork lift separation products, anti slip products and general workplace safety equipment.
The manufacturers also supplied $150,000 worth of orders for retractable bollards to be fitted at a US Army base in Las Vegas. This overseas success was attributed to the exchange rate.
