Self combustion the prime suspect in million-dollar fire
INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a fire at a furniture painting factory in the Melbourne suburb of Moorabbin.
According to witnesses, 60 firefighters took two hours to contain the blaze, which started after 1pm on 18 November 2008.
One of the workers says he was spraying paint as usual when the extraction fan caught fire. Investigators currently think a chemical found in some of the spray paint could have self-combusted.
It is believed the fire has caused more than a million dollars worth of damage.
