Stress session to improve return to work strategies

WORKSAFE Victoria is holding an interactive session to help employers gain a better understanding of workplace stress.
The event, to be held in Preston on 25 November 2008, will also look at returning employees to work after a psychological injury.
As a case study, an employer will discuss its experiences and the initiatives it has implemented to improve return to work outcomes for workers with psychological injuries.
There will also be group discussion and activities to help employers develop their own return to work strategies.
According to the authority, stress-related claims are complex and more challenging to manage than physical injury. They also cost more, with roughly double the amount of compensation paid to workers suffering from stress compared to physical injuries.
