Surgery for impaled sawmill worker

A QUEENSLAND sawmill worker has been flow to hospital after being impaled by a piece of timber.

According to the Queensland Fire and Rescue service, the incident at the sawmill facility in Injune in southern Queensland saw the metre-long piece of timber driven through the man’s groin.

Rescue crew had to cut the timber so the victim could be placed in the ambulance. He will undergo surgery to remove the rest of the timber.
