Teenage worker stuck in conveyor belt

A TEENAGE Queenslander was stuck in a conveyor belt for 15 minutes on 19 August 2008.A TEENAGE Queenslander was stuck in a conveyor belt for 15 minutes on 19 August 2008.

According to authorities, the 17-year-old is recovering in hospital. He had been working at DBT Australia’s Mackay workshop when the incident occurred.

The teenager was hospitalised with abdominal injuries as well as suspected spinal injuries.

This incident comes after the company was fined $600,000 in 2006, having pleaded guilty to failing to ensure a safe workplace for a 2004 incident when a worker died.
