NINE toilet facilities will be installed in key rest areas across the south west of Queensland, in a bid to help heavy vehicle drivers reduce fatigue.

According to the state’s Main Roads Minister, Warren Pitt, the toilets will encourage drivers to stop, rest and reduce fatigue.

The unisex toilets include solar lighting, water tanks, hand basins and are self-composting. They are said to be low maintenance, easy to clean and eco-friendly.

The facilities will be installed at major stopping places for drivers travelling through the region and insterstate.
