Toxic gases overcame worker in septic tank

A WORKER was rescued from a septic tank on 25 October 2008 after being overcome by toxic fumes in the four-metre deep container.
The 30-year-old had been waterproofing the tank at the Melbourne brewery construction site, when the fumes from the toxic resin he was using caused him to collapse.
Rescue personnel said another worker found him around fifteen minutes after he collapsed.
Fire workers put on their breathing apparatus and used an oxygen line and harness to rescue the worker from the pit.
WorkSafe Victoria says it is investigating the incident, and the man is in a stable condition.
