According to the organisers, the five-day program is suited for those responsible for managing and conducting system safety programs.
It will cover risk management, software safety engineering, safety paradigms, standards and guidelines, principles and hazard identification.
The program will also provide guidance on how to interface safety engineering with design management and support.
Attendees will be taught how to develop a Safety Case, which is a comprehensive demonstration of how safety has been considered for all aspects of complex control systems from concept to disposal. The Safety Case is often required by international and domestic governing and regulatory bodies.
The training program costs $2995 per person and will be held from 20 to 24 October 2008 at Amora Hotel, Riverwalk, Melbourne.
