Vehicle management information system improves truck safety
MINORPLANET has released its vehicle management information (VMI) system which it claims will enhance the safety of trucking operations.
The system measures the forces applied to a vehicle in three dimensions with its tri-axis accelerometer.
It has an integrated incident buffer. This returns second-by-second data when triggered, and acts like a “black box” during an incident. The data includes vehicle location, speed, temperatures, forces, rapid acceleration, hard cornering and heavy braking.
According to the developers, the system provides an insight into the behaviour of truck drivers, helping companies maximise road safety.
