A QUEENSLAND factory has been evacuated after firefighters found potentially dangerous zinc dust in its ducting system.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Acacia Ridge steel factory after a small fire in the ducting. Staff at the factory extinguished the fire.
Upon inspection, the fire crew found zinc dust and the factory was evacuated.
Zinc dust has a foul odour and can potentially cause health problems if inhaled. Scientific officers were conducting air quality tests pending further action.
