Zinc dust found at factory

the fire crew found zinc dust and the factory was evacuated.A QUEENSLAND factory has been evacuated after firefighters found potentially dangerous zinc dust in its ducting system.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Acacia Ridge steel factory after a small fire in the ducting. Staff at the factory extinguished the fire.

Upon inspection, the fire crew found zinc dust and the factory was evacuated.

Zinc dust has a foul odour and can potentially cause health problems if inhaled. Scientific officers were conducting air quality tests pending further action.
