WORKSAFE Victoria has opened entries for its 2008 WorkSafe Awards.
The awards, now in their twentieth anniversary, recognise businesses, groups of workers, health and safety representatives and individuals. Nominees go beyond their everyday duties to make their workplaces and industries safer.
According to the authority, the awards program recognises innovative and dedicated individuals and organisations. The program allows other workplaces to share the best practice solutions and ideas identified by the awards.
Entries are open until 9 May 2008. Awards are available in seven categories, and winners will be announced on 30 October 2008 during Work Safe Week.
The award categories are for:
Health and Safety Representative of the Year
Health and Safety Committee of the Year
Best Design for Workplace Safety
Best Health and Safety Initiative for Small Business
Best Solution for Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders
Best Solution to a Health and Safety Risk
Best Strategy for Health and Safety Management
