Safety award winners lead by example

ACCORDING to SA Industrial Relations Minister Paul Caica, the Safe Work Award winners provide examples of the innovation, dedication and cooperation needed to keep workplace safe.

The South Australian Safe Work Awards concluded the Safe Work Month. According to the organisers, the business sector is recognising the value of investing in safety at work.

Resources company Santos said by entering the Safe Work Awards and subjecting itself to the judging process, it has improved its safety culture.

Among the winners were Toll Autologistics, who won “Best Solution to an Identified Workplace Health and Safety Issue” for its Flatpack Vehicle Transporter, Tricia Gilroy from Carl Zeiss Vision who was named Employee of the Year, and ETSA Utilities who won “Best Workplace Health and Safety Management System”.
