a concrete slab fell about 10 storeys off a construction site in Darwin on 14 July 2008.NORTHERN Territory WorkSafe say they are investigating an incident where a concrete slab fell about 10 storeys off a construction site in Darwin on 14 July 2008.

According to the safety authority, no one was hurt in the accident, which occurred on the corner of Daly Street and the Esplanade.

Tentative witness reports claim the slab missed one worker on the ground by meters.

WorkSafe will look at risk management, materials, work methods, staff training and experience. It says it was sheer luck which prevented serious injuries and death.
