Air conditioning not just about comfort: Active Air

ACCORDING to Active Air, air conditioning is not just about comfort, but is linked to a critical occupational health and safety issue.

In extreme conditions, heat can result in dehydration, disorientation, confusion, convulsions, body temperatures in excess of 40 degrees and cardiovascular collapse and death.

Dizziness and fainting can result in further injuries from falls and accidents, and tiredness and weakness results in lowered productivity. Additionally, there is an increased risk of manual handling injuries due to sweaty and slippery hands.

The recommended temperature range to optimise indoor thermal comfort for most people is 19º C to 28º C. This temperature range is appropriate for the sedentary or near sedentary physical activity levels that are typical of general office work.

Active Air claims portable air conditioning units such as the AC 040 unit can be used to provide suitable temperatures on location and on demand.

Due to the minimal installation process, Active Air says the AC 040 is suited for hire and rentals. The AC 040 portable air conditioning unit is rated at 4.0kW and has quiet operation, lower power consumption, and can be set to clean and dehumidify the air as it cools.
