Awards for noise reduction efforts

EXHAUST Air Recycling System (EARS) Australia, a 2007 WorkSafe Award winner, has been recognised in the Safe Work Australia Awards as having the best solution to an identified workplace health and safety issue.

The Knoxfield company had previously received the Victoria WorkSafe Award for Best Solution to a Health and Safety Risk.

The safety awards were recognition of the company’s work in reducing noise output from air-operated tools. According to work safety authorities, fighting hearing loss was an important health and safety issue.

WorkSafe Victoria is encouraging businesses and companies to enter the 2008 WorkSafe Awards before entries close on 9 May 2008.
