THE Construction Safety 2009 international conference will be held in Melbourne from 21 to 23 October.

Titled “Working Together: Planning, Designing and Building a Safe and Healthy Construction Industry”, the conference will explore how all construction industry professionals and participants can play their part in making the construction industry a safer and healthier place to work.

According to the organisers, occupational health and safety should be considered well before the construction work begins on site. To do this, all stakeholders need to be engaged in a collaborative approach, from building owners to design professionals.

The Construction Safety conference will also facilitate the meaningful exchange of innovative ideas between industry and the international construction occupational health and safety research community.

Topics covered include ergonomics and human factors, communication and health and safety, designing for safer construction, promoting the health and wellbeing of construction workers, client involves, OHS regulation, incident analysis, risk analysis, etc.
