INDUSTRIAL Scientific Australia has launched a ‘Don’t buy gas detectors’ campaign, recommending the use of iNet, its software-based subscription service for gas detector fleets.

According to Industrial Scientific Australia, its iNet program currently supports over 24,500 gas detectors and 3600 DS2 docking stations globally. The program aims to help companies combat gas hazards without actually owning the gas detectors.

Industrial Scientific Australia claims selecting the right gas detectors and setting them up correctly can be tedious. Gas detectors need to be serviced regularly, with tracking for factors like data, usage, calibration records, sensor life and alarm events.

The Industrial Scientific Australia iNet program is an alternative model to buying and maintaining gas detectors. Customers subscribe to iNet instead of buying the gas detectors.

Industrial Scientific Australia then a supplies gas detectors and DS2 docking stations. When the gas detectors are docked at the DS2, the software automatically performs record-keeping, bump tests and calibration. If it detects problems, it will email real-time alerts, and the company will send a replacement gas detector unit to the customer.
