INDURA says its Ultra Soft range of fabrics are guaranteed fire resistant for the life of the garment.
According to Indura, Ultra Soft offers 15 to 20% better protection from flash fire and arcs than equivalent 100% cotton fabrics. It is commonly used in protective work wear.
Indura Ultra Soft is made of 88% cotton and 12% high tenacity nylon. The 12% nylon is said to enhance the protective performance in cases of electric arc and flash fire exposures, lessening the chances of severe body burns.
Indura also claims the Ultra Soft fabrics have between 75 to 100% extended wear life over pure cotton fire resistant garments. The fire resistant fabrics are also double sanforised to prevent shrinkage during wash.
Indura Ultra Soft fabrics and garments are distributed in Australia by Charles Parsons.
The manufacturers have uploaded a three minute video clip showing Indura Ultra Soft being tested in a flash fire and electric arc.
