WORMALD has released an advanced carrying system for its self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) products which can be used in the marine, industrial and fire environments.

According to the company, its Advanced Carrying System (ACS) is suited for the Scott & Sabre SCBA lines.

The ACS is said to be the lightest in its class, weighing 2kg to 3.1kg without the mask and cylinder. A sculptured, soft back plate is said to be comfortable and flexible for movement.

Both the back plate and harness can be washed with turnout gear for decontamination. The material can endure up to 50 washes at 30 to 40 degrees Celsius before losing its flame retardant qualities.

The pneumatic system has a compact series of valves which is activated by the first breath. This system can be removed by rotating it by 90 degrees.

The ACS is compatible with a range of facemasks, cylinders and valve styles. A range of materials can also be carried on the system with padded or unpadded harnesses.

The product has Class I and Class II approvals and is compatible with Australian Standard AS/NZS1716:2003.
